Christopher Eccleston was absent from the 50th anniversary episodes, so we could not watch the War Doctor regenerating into the ninth. But that ”error” was corrected online, by this animation written and animated by Blondie (Liam Wilson): after hopefully just saving Gallifrey, the war doctor (John Hurt) returns to his TARDIS to regenerate into the 9th doctor and start the post-regeneration trauma
