Be afraid….be FURRY afraid! I’m a Cybernut! Take me to your Feeder!
Here’s one little monster who might not end up battling everybody in Doctor Who: the Cybermen, the Daleks, the Weeping Angels: the Cyber Squirrel! The hungry rodent looks as if he’s wearing a fearsome Cyberman head.

He clearly wasn’t worried when confronted by one of the Timelord’s most infamous baddies. That’s because every cyberspace in the hollowed-out head was packed with peanuts… and they were rapidly ‘deleted!’
The cyber-nut-ic squirrel was snapped in the back garden of mum Emma Young, 40, mom of two, a huge Doctor Who fan, that created a funny feeder that turns cute visitors of her garden into the Time Lord’s nemesis. She has used several novelty items as bird and squirrel feeders over the years (like the Cybermen and the Dalek).
She made the feeder from an old shower radio, with tasty nuts stuck in the back. Emma patiently waited for squirrels to come and then snapped some hilarious photos.
“My whole family love Doctor Who so I decided to create a sci-fi feeder. I packed a sticky mix of nuts and peanut butter into the head. It was hilarious to see. Well worth all the time and effort” she said, at her home in Beaulieu, in the New Forest National Park, Hampshire. I had to cover any sharp bits left inside with soft felt, so the squirrels wouldn’t injure themselves. Then I packed a sticky mixture of nuts and peanut butter into the Cyberman head, she added.
Emma spent hours on the project, taking apart a Cyberman shower radio, and removing all the inner workings. Emma, whose husband Mark is a full-time gardener, said that within a day of her hanging up the new feeder, the first of three grey squirrels paid a visit.
The first one was very nervous, she said. But the smell of the peanuts quickly overcame any wariness, and he reached up and got stuck in! Emma said that when the squirrel used its front paws to hold the silver head still, it looked like it was wearing it. It was hilarious to watch, she added. Well worth all the time and effort.

As you probably know, the Cybermen first appeared in Doctor Who in 1966, facing first Doctor William Hartnell. They were created by Dr Kit Pedler and Gerry Davis. Since then, they have been popular adversaries, returning to face nearly every Doctor, changing their appearance over the years.
