Russell T Davies on LGBTQ+ representation: ‘Doctor Who is an open door’

Speaking exclusively to Radio Times at the London premiere for Ncuti Gatwa’s first full season as the Doctor, the showrunner Russell T Davies said that he didn’t necessarily view anything he’s added to the series as representation per se, explaining: “I think it’s my life.” He thinks that ‘Doctor Who is an open door’, including for gay people like the next Doctor and whoever else goes there and he or she is accepting for fitting the role.
