Ncuti Gatwa was supposed to be the 14th Doctor Who incarnation but David Tennant returned for a brief time as the Doctor, so they introduced the 15th Doctor a few days ago, and if you haven’t already found more about Mizero Ncuti Gatwa you can read / listen several info about him.
He born in October 1992 in Rwanda but he grew up in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland, and it’s area (where his family moved in 1994). The young actor moved at some moment in London to pursue his carrier and, at some point, he lived on the streets. He became known as as Eric Effiong on the Netflix comedy-drama series Sex Education, which earned him a BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Actor in Television and three BAFTA Television Award nominations for Best Male Comedy Performance. From later this year he will travel through time and space using a TARDIS.
Jodie Whittaker is the first female Doctor in the 59 years history of Doctor Who show and Ncuti Gatwa is the first black actor. I can’t say it’s something bad (knowing some people have been disappointed because of the female Doctor a few years ago), I would rather see how good is the new actor for the Doctor’s role (it’s the only criteria that matters).
