Mark Gatiss about Doctor Who 50th anniversary drama, ‘An Adventure in Space and Time’: I’ve wanted David Bradley to play William Hartnell for years. Accordingly to Radio Times, he’s been trying to make the drama for over a decade.

Gatiss has cast Harry Potter actor David Bradley, who bears a striking resemblance to William Hartnell, as the First Doctor in the fact-based drama about the birth of Doctor Who.

An Adventure in Space and Time will not be David Bradley’s first association with Doctor Who – he played ruthless merchant Solomon in series seven episode Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. He will be joined in the drama by Brian Cox as Doctor Who producer Sidney Newman, Sacha Dhawan as director Waris Hussein and Jessica Raine as producer Verity Lambert.

On the other hand David Tennant, Matt Smith, Miranda Hart, Jessie J, One Direction and David Walliams appear in new trailer for BBC’s Red Nose Day taking place on Friday 15 March.

According to Radio Times, David Tennant and Matt Smith are just two of a host of stars that will appear in the video that features a string of famous faces revealing their plans to raise money for this year’s event.

Miranda Hart teases fans with her plotting to ruin an episode of Call The Midwife,Jessie J reveals her plans to shave her head and David Walliams declares, “I’m not doing anything, I’ve already done enough…”

A tanned One Direction appear in Africa after recording the official Red Nose Day single, while Rowan Atkinson reveals he’s going to be playing the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Last, but not least: David Tennant will play hot shot lawyer in BBC1 thriller The Escape Artist. Radio Times says that the actor will play barrister Will Burton, known for his knack of spiriting his clients out of tight legal corners.

Having never lost a case, Will is in high demand but after using his skills to free the prime suspect in a murder investigation, he finds it coming back to haunt him.

The three-part drama is from Spooks creator David Wolstencroft and also stars Toby Kebbell, last seen in Black Mirror, Hotel Rwanda star Sophie Okonedo and Ashley Jensen, of Extras and Ugly Betty.
