As Doctor Who audio producers Big Finish are awarded a Guinness World Record for their long-running science-fiction audio play series, the people from Radio Times catch up with the men behind Big Finish the dramas (the Chairman Jason Haigh-Ellery and the Creative Director Nicholas Briggs) to look back over 22 years of storytelling and ahead at what’s next.
The company released its first Doctor Who story in the range all the way back in July 1999, and have delivered a new adventure every month since, featuring storylines for the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Doctors.
Now, Big Finish is looking to shake things up with a new way of cataloguing their stories. The 275th story, ‘The End of the Beginning’, marks the final release in the Main Range, with Big Finish set to alter their strategy going forward by releasing regular boxsets for each Doctor throughout the year instead.
