Will Peter Jackson work for Doctor Who?

At least that’s being said: Matt Smith told The Waikato Times (a New Zeeland newspaper) that he would love to film an episode in New Zealand with Peter Jackson, the well known director for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

I don’t know if or when that will happen, it could be for the announced 50th anniversary movie because I would not quite imagine Peter Jackson directing episodes of seventh (or eight) series of Doctor Who. Having Jackson as director would be a plus, with the condition to keep the trends of the Doctor Who.
