Doctor Who – season 15, episode 1 – Robot revolution

What do you do when people and robots were living together and right way and robots are starting a revolution and kidnapping a human from another planet to make her their queen and to marry her with their so called Artificial Intelligence generator? And what can happened if the planet is behind a time fracture that can make travel weird with some time traveling involved?

When the Doctor is involved about anything can happening. Including him becoming a Historian and to start explaining stuff for the new queen of the solar system with her name. This episode reminded me a little about the Terminator movies but it’s another universe, and for the moment one should know that when robots from outer space kidnap nurse Belinda Chandra, the Doctor embarks on an epic intergalactic quest to get his new friend back home to Earth. And the adventure is strangely extended in the other episodes in this season.

The episode could be better but it has some good parts and you should watch or watch again if you have already seen it. I am not complaining, Doctor Who is a show for everyone and some specific Terminator like stuff may not some peple, and there is always place for improvement. The producers should think about that in the next series and they should also think about other things. Doctor Who season 2, for example, was 60 years ago, and some people are still stuck with it. One may call it American season 2, or Disney season 2, but not just season 2. Your call, just don’t throw away the 60 years work – BBC team may not like it for some American colonists.

The episode was directed by Peter Hoar and written by Russell T. Davies.

Cast: Jonny Green (Alan Budd), Max Parker (Manny), Anita Dobson (Mrs. Flood), Thalia Dudek (Kirby Blake), Stefan Haines (Jeffin Kunjumon), Belinda Owusu (Receptionist), Tom Storey (Tombo), Stephen Love (Robot 1), Robert Strange (Robot 2), Nicholas Briggs (Voice of the Robots), Evelyn Miller (Sasha 55), Charles Sandford (Robot 3), Lucas Edwards (Robot 4), Caleb Hughes (Scoley), Nadine Higgin (Shago), William Ellis (Prime Minister), Rose Ayling-Ellis, Ncuti Gatwa (The Doctor), Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu).
