What’s with this time traveling Doctors?… His path cross over a boy’s path in the middle of war without end, trapped between the handmines with eyes into a mined field, he tries to save the boy’s life (against all the odds), but leaves in the moment he finds out that the young’s name is Davros. The same Davros that would later create the perfect warriors known as Dalek, responsables of the start of the greatest time war against the Time Lords.
Or the relation he have with Master / Missy: on moment they try to kill each other, messing with each other’s plans and involving a lot of people and planets in them, the other moment they are the same old ancient friend (have been for centuries!) that fight together against a common enemy. But what can you do against it: one is a murdering psychopat, the other is a traveling filantropist, both adventurers travelers in time. You don’t choose who you like and who your friends are, right?
Anyway, you got the ideea: the Doctor is returning (he is hard to find in the beginning, but he is back!), Clara is returning (at least for the moment becuase she is leavint the TARDIS during this series), Missy is back. So does Davros and his creations, Davros for the first time since 2008, even if the Daleks have constantly returned since them – they are some monsters very hard to eradicate in Who universe.
The reasons for Doctor’s disappearance is easy to understand, considering the first paragraph, especially when Davros sends him notice that he is dying, that he remembers his enemy intervention from his childhood and they have “some” issues to talk about before he dies.
After missing half of episode (hidden in an unexpected way, but for good reasons), the Doctor have to make a great appearance with a lot of humor. Very stilish for the beloved Time Lord and very stimulating, especially with Missy along him. I won’t tell you (a lot of) details about the first episode of firt series, especially that this season has several 2 part stories and the conclusion of this story will be found in the next episode (The witch’s familiar), you’ll have to find them by yourself.
All I can say is that the Doctor and Davros meet again, in conditions you do not expect. This episode might be more that usual, but at least you won’t complain (or you shouldn’t complain) of it. Either way, you won’t have the time for complaining: the action is cursive, without breaks.
For any other questions you will have to wait the next episode.
