“Full of bravura acting… Impeccable” – London Metro
BBC America’s BROADCHURCH, which earned critical acclaim and broke records on Twitter in the UK, centers on the investigation into the murder of a young boy in a British seaside town.
Leading the investigation are two detectives — the strong yet compassionate local Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller (OLIVIA COLMAN, Twenty Twelve, The Iron Lady), and the by-the-book Detective Inspector Alec Hardy (DAVID TENNANT, Doctor Who, Spies of Warsaw), Ellie’s newly appointed boss.
Broadchurch is an eight part drama created by Doctor Who and Torchwood writer Chris Chibnall which centres on the effect on a small UK seaside town when a schoolboy is found murdered on the beach. David Tennant and Olivia Colman star as mismatched police detectives Hardy and Miller whose task is to find the killer while around them suspicion, fear and grief threaten to tear the small community apart. Arthur Darvill, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan and David Bradley also feature in the series that had millions in the UK glued to their TV screens this spring.
By circumstance they are partnered to solve the murder, keeping the newspapers from derailing the investigation and trying to prevent the crime from impacting tourism at the beach where the boy was murdered.
The story looks interesting enough to watch. I hope you will all enjoy the drama.
As I see, BBC America dedicated a webpage for this new movie in the approach of the premiere.
