YouTube user Jeremy Lee decided that he wanted to build a vortex manipulator, the miniature time machine like the one seen on the wrists of Captain Jack Harkness, River Song and Clara Oswald. So he created a fully working home-made Whovian smartwatch, using a Raspberry Pi and quite a bit of digging in a toy version of Captain Jack’s former mode of transportation.
It shouldn’t have fit, this was supposed to be a ‘prototype build’ to test out the concepts, but it came together far better than the fan expected. A lot of X-windows is tricky to use without a proper keyboard, the difficult things can be done over SSH or VNC, but otherwise it is a quite functional machine.
