Doctor Who location report from yesteday with Jenna-Louise Coleman, Jemma Redgrave and the newly-confirmed cast member Ingrid Oliver, they were treated to a rare appearance by the British sunshine.
You may remember Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart, head of scientific research at the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce (UNIT). She was confirmed to appear in the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special, along with the Zygons. Her character followed in the footsteps of her celebrated father Brigadier Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart and he will by taking these old enemy in the anniversary special episode.
The Brig led UNIT against the alien invaders in Fourth Doctor serial Terror of the Zygons, while his daughter Kate was introduced after his death, in series seven episode The Power of Three.
Filming on the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special started this month,  this week production travelled to the historic Tower of London, which aficianados will recall has previously served as an HQ for Earth defence force UNIT. The special episode is expected to air in November, half a century to the month after the first ever episode was broadcast.
Ingrid Oliver can be seen shooting scenes in a stripy scarf reminiscent of Tom Baker’s fourth reincarnation of the Doctor.
